Carole Ann Lee

Carole Ann is a native of Oregon. Along with their two children, she resides with her own special hero who shares her crazy sense of humor and love for animals. The Lee family is owned by, Hunter—a German Shepherd pup, Turk—an English Budgie, and two horses: Ace—a registered Quarter Horse and Nacoma—a registered Paint whose legendary Medicine Hat markings make him very rare.
Having always been fascinated by the thought of space travel, yet equally captivated by the romance of the tall sailing ships, Carole Ann’s goal has been to integrate the two worlds in a futuristic romance that sizzles with both high tech as well as the swashbuckling intensity of a high seas adventure.

Carole Ann began writing on a lark in the early nineties. In 1994, at a writer’s conference she had the privilege of meeting and submitting BANNER’S BONUS to a New York editor. Eight months later, BANNER’S BONUS was on the shelves as a Love Spell release.

Aa a member of Romance Writers of America, she has placed highly in every contest she has entered, and consistently earns four and five star reviews.

Having recently finished SOLAR WIND, the first sequel to BANNER’S BONUS, she is presently working on the second sequel—working title, BANNER’S RENEGADE.

Carole Ann loves hearing from her readers and answers every letter. You may email her at: CaroleAnnLee@aol.com. Her website is: http://caroleannlee.com/

“Zeke Slater is a man of whom many would steer clear, but not Kira. She has always been attracted to him, even though she does rub him the wrong way. Zeke wears an aura of danger about him. Though he sometimes parades in “sheep’s clothing,” he is not a person to trifle with or cross. Kira, however, is nothing to him but trouble. Honor is a lesson well taught to Zeke by Max Banner, his surrogate father, and mentor. He grew up amid the camaraderie, cooperation and companionship of the Banner men, and they jump to help him as one of their own. Solar Wind is another must read, and an example of a delightfully rendered romance. Carole Ann Lee is to be congratulated on a job well done!”

Rose of Romance -- Heart Reviews

"Lee's space adventure is solid with all of the shoot-em-ups and intrigue any good space opera buff would want. The romance fairly sizzles. But Zeke and Kira's self doubts about their feelings and those of the other were absolutely maddening. I kept wanting to shout at the pages, "Just talk to each other!" But that is the stuff of authors building tension, and Carole Ann Lee certainly did that."

5 out of 5 STARS

“Solar Wind is a fabulous Calgon "take me away" moment. In a voice reminiscent of Linnea Sinclair and Susan Grant, author Carole Ann Lee literally takes the reader to a galaxy far away, and involves us in the adventures of a 6 foot 3 inch drop dead gorgeous space pirate, Zeke Slate… Solar Wind is vivid with details of life aboard a spaceship, full of funny moments, true terror, true heroism ,and perhaps perfect love. Solar Wind is a grand adventure. I am so thankful that I discovered this author's book, and I am hoping for further stories about the other brothers.”

"I enjoyed Solar Wind a lot it was very much in keeping with Carole Ann Lee’s prior futuristic work starting with Banner's Bonus. I hope to read more of her work soon."

“Author Carole Ann Lee skillfully writes science fiction without badgering the reader with descriptions of advanced technology. In her hands, futuristic off-planet life becomes realistic and possible and readers find themselves caught up in the action, of which there is plenty. Mystery and suspense vie with romance and sexual tension to attract our attention. The push-me/pull-you magnetism between unintentional stowaway Kira and Captain Slater will keep readers guessing and riveted to the story while cheering on both the heroine and the hero. The characters are revealed layer by layer in the context of their situations, keeping readers turning the pages expectantly. SOLAR WIND is a fine sequel to BANNER'S BONUS, with which it shares a universe and some of the important characters, but functions perfectly as a stand-alone novel, or as the first read of the two stories.”

Frost -- Dark Angel Reviews

3 out of 4 STARS

“Fast paced and engaging, Solar Wind has moments of light humour and occasional calm that contrast nicely with the dramatic and darker themes… Solar Wind is an enjoyable read that I read in one sitting, something I rarely do these days….”

Slater's faintly amused gaze lifted from the computer. "These are my quarters. I'll come and go as I please. And...since you've brought up the subject of undress, I've been doing a little re-thinking. I figure as long as you and I will be sharing this cabin, what the hell, I might as well take you up on your offer."

"What offer might that be?" she asked warily.

Slater came around from behind the desk, slowly unbuttoning his shirt. "Come now, Legs, surely you haven't forgotten."

Kira took a step backward. "You mean the bargain that I talked to Frank about?"

He shook his head slowly. "I mean the sweet little offer you made right over there on my bunk."

"But, I never--"

"Now that I've had time to think it over, I have to admit it does have certain advantages."

"Zeke, I didn't..." Her voice trailed off as he advanced upon her, tugging his open shirt from his pants. Kira retreated, one step at a time until the backs of her legs came up against something hard. "You're not serious," she whispered, just as she tumbled into the seat behind her.

Leaning forward he clamped his hands over the tops of hers, pinning them to the arms of the chair. "I'm very serious." His shirt hung wide, exposing an impressively defined torso with sleek muscles that angled into the waistband of his pants. "You knew all along I was trying to reach Renn, and yet you said nothing. Why?"

"Zeke, I--"

"Who's tailing us?"

"I already told you, I don't know!"

He leaned forward, crowding her space. "I'm trying very hard to remain a gentleman here, Kira," he said, almost too quietly.

"Let go of me!" Despite his injury, Zeke's grip was like iron. He was completely and implacably determined.

"What's it going to be, Legs?"

Up went her chin. "What do you want me to do? Lie?"

He smiled. The air thickened. Zeke's hooded eyes swept over her, lingering on her mouth, and then, her breasts. When his gaze returned to her face, Kira knew exactly what he was thinking. Her insides coiled. Nervously she moistened her lips, his avid gaze following every movement. "I'm not afraid of you," she whispered lamely, all too aware of his size, his heat, his scent....his nearness.

"Yes you are." His tone was gentle and seductive and somewhat amused as he leaned forward, his head slowly descending.

"Slater, I am warning--"

He touched her mouth gently with his own. "Still time to change your mind," he whispered against her lips.

"Don't! I already said--"

This time his mouth claimed hers in a searing kiss that turned Kira's bones to liquid. She moaned, but he only deepened the kiss, angling his head for better purchase. Her heart slammed into her ribs, sending a coiled jolt straight to her belly.

The tip of his tongue slid along the crease of her lips, seeking entrance. "Open for me, baby. I gotta taste you."

With another moan she turned her head away. Zeke growled in response and gently nipped her earlobe, running his tongue around the outer shell of her ear before returning to her mouth.

"Zeke, please--" No sooner had her lips parted than he plunged in, sending his tongue deeply and sensuously inside. The warm glide of his tongue against hers made her gasp, sending another surge of wild sensation southward. Withdrawing slowly, he thrust inside again...and again.

Dazed, pliant and utterly bemused, it was then Kira numbly realized that at some point he had drawn her up into his arms.

War had definitely been waged and underestimating him was a grave error. This assault was more effective than any other means of bending her to his will.

His hands slipped to the small of her back as he pulled her tighter into the cradle of his hips. Trembling, Kira stifled a moan at the undeniable imprint of his male body upon her belly. "Zeke..." she implored.

At last he succumbed, his lowered head nestled in the hollow of her shoulder, his mouth pressed to her throat. "You want me to stop?" came his deep, gentle voice.
